This policy explains what information Before the Cart collects when you visit beforethecart.com, why it is collected, and what choices you have.
Information you give us
If you subscribe to updates, we collect the email address you provide, and the date you subscribed. If you write to us, we keep the message and your email address so we can reply.
We do not ask for your name, address, phone number or payment details, and we have no way to receive them. Purchases happen on the seller's own website, under the seller's own policy.
Information collected automatically
Standard technical data that any web server records: IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and which pages were visited. We use analytics and advertising measurement tools, including Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion measurement, which set cookies or similar identifiers to understand how people arrive at the site and whether an ad led to a visit.
Affiliate tracking
When you click an affiliate link, the seller's network sets a cookie so it can attribute a later purchase to this site. That cookie is set and read by the seller's network, not by us. We never receive your payment information, and in most cases we receive nothing more than an anonymous record that a sale happened.
How we use it
- To send updates, if you asked for them.
- To answer messages you send us.
- To understand which pages are useful and which are not.
- To measure whether advertising works.
We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not share your email address with the companies whose products we review.
Email and unsubscribing
Every email we send carries a working unsubscribe link and our sending address. Unsubscribing takes effect immediately and we keep a record of the request so that you are not contacted again by mistake. You can also unsubscribe by writing to hello@beforethecart.com.
Your choices
- Cookies. Your browser can block or delete them. The site works without them.
- Access, correction and deletion. Write to us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it.
- Analytics. Google provides an opt out browser add on for Google Analytics.
Children
This site is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and it will be deleted.
Retention and security
Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. Technical logs are kept for a limited period. Data is stored with established service providers using encryption in transit, and access is limited to what is needed to run the site.
International visitors
This site is operated for an English speaking audience and its service providers may process data in the United States and elsewhere. By using the site you understand that your information may be processed in a country other than your own.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be stated plainly rather than folded quietly into the text.
